TUNA MELT SUB SANDWICH Feb 19 Written By Eleanor Debel PrintTUNA SUB SANDWICH Yield 2Prep time10 MinCook time5 MinTotal time15 MinIngredients½ red onion, peeled and finely diced - soaked in ice water for at least 10 minutes 2 stalks celery, outer layer peeled off, finely diced 2 cups canned tuna ( I prefer the no added salt or oil variety) ¼ cup finely chopped fresh parsley 1 Tbsp finely chopped pickles or relish 1 Tbsp buffalo sauce 1 Tbsp mustard 3 Tbsp mayonnaise ½ tsp salt ½ tsp fresh cracked black pepper ½ tsp sazon 1 or 2 large hoagie rolls Thin slices of swiss cheese Three pepper gouda cheese, shredded (or any shredded cheese you like) InstructionsIn a large bowl stir together the diced onion, diced celery, canned tuna, chopped parsley, relish or chopped pickle, buffalo sauce, mustard, mayonnaise, salt, pepper and sazon. Taste to adjust the seasoning to your liking and set aside. Preheat your broiler too high. Place the rolls cut side up on a sheet tray and layer on the thinly sliced swiss cheese. Toast just until the cheese is melted. Spoon on as much tuna filling as you like onto the toasted bread then top with the shredded gouda. Toast again to melt the cheese and get it nice and bubbling.
