CRISPY ONION CHEESEBURGER Aug 21 Written By Eleanor Debel https://www.youtube.com/shorts/KB-LWBYUX4oPrintCRISPY ONION CHEESEBURGERYield 2Prep time15 MinCook time10 MinTotal time25 MinIngredients1 lb ground beef, divided into ¼ lb balls Salt, pepper and garlic seasoning blend 4 slices american cheese 1 large onion, cut into thin ¼ inch rings ½ cup buttermilk 1 tbsp hot sauce 1 cup seasoned flour Oil for frying Brioche burger buns Sliced pickles Burger Sauce2 Tbsp mayonnaise 1 Tbsp mustard1 tsp worcestershire sauce 1 tsp sweet relish 1 tsp hot sauce InstructionsTo make the crispy onions: add the sliced onions to a medium bowl with the buttermilk and hot sauce and toss to combine. Add your seasoned flour to another medium bowl and toss the buttermilk coated onions into the flour. Toss so they are evenly coated in the flour.Fry the onions in preheated oil (about 350 F) until golden browned and crispy. Remove to a paper towel lined tray, season with salt immediately out of the fryer and set aside Make the sauce: In a small bowl stir together the mayonnaise, mustard, worcestershire sauce, sweet relish and hot sauce until combined. Taste for seasoning and set aside. Portion the ground beef into 4 oz balls and set aside also. Preheat a large cast iron pan, or a grill, on medium high heat. Once it's nearly smoking, place one or two beef balls onto the pan and smash down into a patty using a heavy plate or spatula. Season the patty generously with garlic granules, salt and pepper. Cook 1-2 minutes then flip and top each patty with a slice of cheese. Remove the patties and set aside. Assemble your burger: Lightly toast your brioche buns then spread sauce on the bottom, top with 1 or two cheese patties then a pile of crispy onions, sliced pickles and the top of the bun with more sauce spread on it.
