Ingredients

Pizza Dough:

  • 180 g (1 cup) self-rising flour

  • 200 g (3/4 cup) low fat Greek yogurt

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1 Tbsp oil

    Pizza sauce:

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

  • 1/2 white onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

  • Salt to taste

  • 15 oz San Marzano tomatoes

  • 3 leaves basil, rough chopped

    White sauce:

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp flour

  • 1 1/2 cup low fat milk

  • 1 tsp garlic powder & black pepper

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 oz Parmesan cheese

    Cheese options: 

  • low fat mozzarella

  • sharp cheddar

    Topping options:

  • Chicken breast

  • Low fat ground beef

  • Pickled jalapeños

  • Turkey bacon

  • Olives

  • Banana peppers

 

Directions

Step 1

Mix flour, Greek yogurt, salt and oil together in a bowl to create dough. After about 2 minutes it should be at a smooth consistency, slightly sticky, not too dry, and form a ball. Cover with a damp paper towel. Set aside to rest 20 minutes. Transfer to a work surface floured with self-rising flour. Divide the dough ball into 2 even portions. Roll out each portion, adding more flour to the rolling pin as needed to keep dough from being too sticky. Spray pizza pan with cooking spray and spread dough to the edges of the pan.

Step 2

For the red sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat add oil, onion, garlic and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add tomatoes and salt and crush tomatoes using the back of a spoon until smooth. Tear basil leaves, add to sauce, stir. Optionally, use an immersion blender till desired smooth consistency.

Step 3

For the white sauce: In a small pan over medium heat, add flour and toast for 1 to 2 minutes, occasionally stirring. Add milk, cook for another 1 to 2 minutes, continually whisking to smooth out any clumps that form. Once it has thickened, stir in garlic powder, pepper, salt and parmesan cheese until fully combined.

Step 4

Preheat the oven to 500°F. Spoon on desired sauce and spread, leaving about 1/2 inch for crust. Add desired cheese and toppings. Bake until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling, 10-12 minutes.
