HOT HONEY CHICKEN SLIDERS Mar 26 Written By Eleanor Debel https://www.youtube.com/shorts/k4Af4lhh-FcPrintHOT HONEY CHICKEN SLIDERS Yield 6-8Prep time20 MinCook time10 MinTotal time30 Min Ingredients For the Chicken:2 lbs chicken thighs 2 cups flour 2 cup cornstarch 2 Tbsp sweet heat rub or seasoning blend of choice 1 tsp baking powder ½ tsp kosher salt 2 eggs 1 Tbsp hot sauce 4-6 oz club soda For the Hot Sauce:3 Tbsp butter 1 tsp cayenne pepper (or more to taste) ¼ cup honey 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tbsp orange juice To Assemble:Slider buns Garlic butter Spicy mayonnaise Sliced Pickles InstructionsIn a large bowl whisk together the flour, cornstarch, seasoning blend and baking powder. Transfer about 1 ½ cups of the flour mixture to a large bowl and toss with the chicken thighs, set aside. Transfer half of the remaining flour mixture to a bowl and add the two eggs, hot sauce, and club soda and whisk to combine. You want this batter to be a slightly thicker consistency than pancake batter so add more water and necessary or a little extra flour if it’s too thin. Preheat your frying oil to 350 F. To make the sauce: Melt the butter in a skillet or pot and once foaming add in the cayenne pepper to toast for 30 seconds or so. Stir in the honey, lemon juice and orange juice and bring to a simmer then remove from the heat. Fry the chicken: Place the seasoned floured thighs into the wet batter and fully coat, then back into the dry flour to coat. Fry for 7-8 minutes until golden brown and crispy then remove to a wire lined sheet tray and brush all over with hot honey. To assemble: Toast the slider buns with a little garlic butter brushed on top then spoon on spicy mayonnaise, add sliced pickles and a hot honey chicken thigh.
