MCDONALD’S McCHICKEN SANDWICH
Ingredients
Chicken:
2 lb chicken thighs, skinless, boneless (optionally: 1 lb chicken breast + 1 lb thigh mix)
2 tsp salt
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp garlic & onion
1 tsp black pepper
Wet batter:1 1/2 cups water
1 egg
1/2 cup corn starch
1 tsp salt
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic & onion
1 tsp black pepper
Dry batter:1 cup flour
1 cup corn starch
2 tsp salt
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp black pepper
To fry:
Oil (vegetable to canola are suggested)
To serve:
hamburger buns
Iceberg lettuce, shredded
mayonnaise
Directions
Step 1
In a food processor add chicken and spices. Blend until mixture is smooth. Form seasoned chicken into 4 equal patties. Freeze the patties for 30 minutes.
Step 2
Meanwhile, make dry batter by combining flour, corn starch, salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper. Whisk until the wet batter is smooth. Remove chicken patties from the freezer and coat in the wet batter. Shake off excess and place into the dry batter.
Step 3
In a deep pan or deep fryer, add oil and heat to 325 degrees. Fry the Breaded chicken patties for 8-10 minutes. Remove and drain. Toast bun. On the toasted bottom bun, add mayonnaise, lettuce, then fried chicken patty, and enjoy!
