GARLIC CHEESE BREAD

Ingredients

  • 1 large French bread loaf

  • 5-10 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 stick butter, softened

  • 1-2 Tbsp hot pepper paste

  • 2 Tbsp chopped cilantro or parsley

  • 1 1/2 cup mozzarella

  • 1 cup sharp cheddar

    Garnish:

  • Parmesan cheese 

  • Parsley or cilantro, chopped

 

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400°F

Step 2

Make garlic paste by crushing cloves of garlic in a food processor. Alternatively, mince garlic with a sharp knife, and continually scrape with the sharp end of the knife against the pile of garlic at an angle to flatten the garlic until it forms a paste.

Step 3

In a bowl, combine butter, hot pepper paste, cilantro (or parsley), garlic paste, and mix until smooth. Slice the loaf in half lengthwise, then spread the butter mixture evenly on both sides of the loaf.

Step 4

Place the buttered loaf on a tray and bake for about 5 minutes, add mozzarella and cheddar cheese, return to the oven and bake for another 5 minutes till the cheese is melted and crisped.

Step 5

Slice, garnish with parmesan cheese and parsley (or cilantro), then enjoy!
