CUBAN PICADILLO Dec 20 Written By Eleanor Debel https://www.youtube.com/shorts/cC1zp9R5VKsPrintCUBAN PICADILLO Yield 4Prep time10 MinCook time20 MinTotal time30 Min Ingredients 1 Tbsp olive oil 1 white onion, finely chopped 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped 1 ½ lbs ground beef 1 tsp Sazon ½ tsp cumin ¼ tsp dried oregano ½ tsp paprika 1 bay leaf 2 Tbsp minced garlic (about 3 cloves) ½ cup chopped green olives 1 8 oz can of tomato sauce 8 oz vegetable broth Optional: ¼ cup raisins InstructionsHeat a large pan over medium heat and add the olive oil, chopped onion and chopped bell pepper. Cook, stirring frequently, for about 5-6 minutes until the peppers and onion are nicely softened and starting to brown. Add the ground beef to the pan and break it up with a wooden spoon or spatula. Cook, stirring frequently and continuing to break up the meat with the spoon, until the beef is nicely browned and incorporated with the vegetables, about 6-7 minutes. Add the sazon, cumin, oregano, paprika and bay leaf to the pan and stir to combine. Add the olive and stir to combine. Pour in the tomato sauce, then rinse the can into the pan with broth. Stir to combine then bring to a simmer and reduce the heat to medium low.Cook, stirring occasionally for about 10 minutes, or until the liquid is reduced to a saucy consistency.
